I made the spell effects with a tool written by a programmer on the team.  I set the guidelines for the tool so he knew what to include in it.  I designed the look of each spell.  

Fire Breath Spell

The sprites of fire, like all the sprites are actually very clean, I'm sorry that isn't clear here.  I set up the entire spell effects including choosing and implementing which animations should play.

Mindflayers Mist

This spell was a trap you set for the opponent to stroll into.  I also made the onscreen displays, though they were implented larger than I had envisioned by the final burn.

Blade Ball

This spell actually chucked a nasty blade ball at the opponent.  I tried to get the effect of blood spilling with the sprites.
